Yacht delivery in Germany

Germany sits on two seas joined by a canal, and that single fact shapes most German delivery planning.

Work typically involves Baltic season repositioning, yard and handover movements, and North Sea passages linking Germany with the Netherlands, England and the route south.

Where we operate in Germany

Coverage of both German coasts and the corridor between them.

German Bight

The Elbe, Weser and Jade approaches and the East Frisian coast.

Kiel Canal corridor

The Brunsbüttel to Kiel link between the North Sea and the Baltic.

Western Baltic

Kiel, Flensburg, Fehmarn and the Danish island approaches.

Eastern Baltic coast

Rostock, Warnemünde, Stralsund and Rügen.

Onward corridors

Denmark, Sweden and the wider Baltic north, and the Netherlands west.

Typical German delivery routes

North Sea to Baltic via the Kiel Canal

The standard link between the two coasts, planned with transit and berthing timings confirmed in advance.

Baltic season repositioning

Movements between German, Danish and Swedish season bases.

German operating considerations

Two seas, two characters

The German Bight is tidal, shallow and exposed. The Baltic is largely non-tidal with a short steep sea of its own. The same delivery can need both plans.

Canal transit

Using the canal saves the passage around Denmark. It is a scheduled transit with its own timings and requirements, which we confirm for the vessel before departure rather than assume.

Short season

The Baltic season is concentrated from late May to early September, so mobilisation and berth planning happen early.

Approach traffic

The Elbe and the Kiel approaches carry heavy commercial traffic and are planned as formal transits.

How Yacht.Delivery manages the passage

German deliveries often combine tidal North Sea work, a canal transit and Baltic passage in one job.

Professional crews

Passages are run by qualified delivery skippers and crew, with certification supplied before departure.

24/7 operations support

An operations team stands behind the crew for routing, technical and logistics decisions at any hour.

HELM live tracking

Every delivery runs on HELM with live position, daily reports and the full ship's log visible to you.

Transparent expenses

Costs are logged against the delivery as they happen and reconciled at handover. No surprises.

Documentation and handover

Condition report, photographic record and ship's log at departure and arrival. Nothing is verbal.
