Passage and crew
The Princess F65 was professionally repositioned from Kiel to Rostock as a crewed delivery, run to the same standard as any managed passage.
The vessel carried a Master 200 GT captain and a Yachtmaster Offshore mate. The owner was aboard for the repositioning.
The delivery was undertaken in collaboration with Sevenstar Yacht Transport, whose cargo transport the passage was feeding into.
Cargo preparation in Rostock
On arrival in Rostock, extensive preparation for cargo loading was completed both internally and externally.
Loading a yacht onto a cargo vessel means presenting it in the condition the transport operator requires before any lift is considered. That preparation work is part of the delivery scope, not an afterthought at the quayside.
Marina to loading dock
With preparation complete, the yacht was moved from the marina to the loading dock under the delivery crew.
Yacht.Delivery liaised with the Sevenstar loadmaster and deck crew ahead of and during the operation. The division of responsibility was clear throughout: Yacht.Delivery managed vessel readiness and vessel movements, and the cargo team controlled the lifting and loading operation.
Loading
The yacht was loaded successfully. The lift and load were carried out by the cargo team, with the delivery crew supporting the process and standing by for anything required of the vessel.
Post-load checks
Full post-load checks were completed once the yacht was in place.
Operational lessons
- Cargo transport works best when the delivery and the loading phase are run as one managed operation, not two separate jobs.
- Qualified bridge crew still matters on a short coastal repositioning.
- Extensive preparation is essential before a yacht is presented for lift.
- Clear liaison with the loadmaster and deck crew removes ambiguity over who controls what.
- Post-load checks close the responsibility loop at handover to the cargo vessel.
