Tidal Atlantic, non-tidal Mediterranean
Brittany and the Channel demand tidal gate planning through passages like the Chenal du Four and the Raz de Sein. The Mediterranean coast has none of that and a different set of wind problems instead.
Mistral
The Gulf of Lion accelerates the northwesterly hard and builds a short steep sea quickly. Passages along that coast are windowed rather than scheduled.
Biscay timing
The Biscay crossing is generally most reliable from June to September. Outside that, depression tracks are the deciding factor and we hold for a window.
Yard handovers
Deliveries straight out of a build slot get a full condition and photographic record at departure so the arrival state is documented against it.
